How to Play Piano, Adding chords to your music.

    Twinkle Little Star Intermediate/Jazz

RULE:

Any chord may be preceded with its' V7 chord.

When learning Chords & Arranging or Jazz Piano, you will want to know and learn that there are many possibilities of adding or changing the chords
in every song.  This will give you so many options to change your music,
and have a big huge sound, whether you keep it consonant or dissonant,
is your choice.  Adding and/or changing chords is how musicians get all
those fabulous sounds on the piano.
This is actually simpler than you realize, with a little guidance and examples of how to use the theories.
1) learn the rule or theory
2) apply this to your music according to your taste.

With simple rules you can fill-in your music and give your music many
options for different sounds.  After the video, try to apply this to another simple song.

Why would you add or change chords in a song?

1.  By changing chords, you can add more tension in a song, which
     adds interest & drama.
2.  By adding chords, you can fill out blank measures in your music
     music.
3.  When we add or change chords, we can get those terrific jazz
sounds, because the melody will then become an extension rather
than a root, third, 5th or 7th.  This will give the dissonance and/or
that big full sound you hear other artists playing.
4.  The new chords do not belong to the original key.
5. This rule always applies, if you do not like the new chord
against the melody, you do not have to play the chord.
    This is by your choice.
