LESSON 33 INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Finger Exercises: Continue practicing octaves. The more
you
2. Chord Composition: Rock'n Blues: A fun way to practice
octaves!
There are several important parts to this lesson:
1. A song to practice playing octaves, using
the correct fingers.
2. The beginning of playing 7 chords
3. Learning and practicing rhythms:
1. Octaves: The octaves that are white notes will be played with
the
1 & 4 fingers. The octaves with a
black note are played with
1 & 5 fingers.
2. 7 chords: Learn this song by its chords and inversions not by
just reading the notes. The best way to learn this
song, is to memorize the chord progressions. Example F7 chord for
4 measures, B Flat 7 chord for 2 measures etc. Learning songs by
the chord progressions and their inversions, you are able to learn much
faster. Instead of reading single notes and putting them together, you
can group notes in chords and learn quicker and easier. The
same idea will be used in classical musical, analyze the scale and chord
progressions and then memorize the composition. I memorize
these progressions in my mind before I ever actually play the
piano. As you will learn later, when analyzing chords in classical musical,
you will understand the form the composer wanted to portray and be able
to interpret the music.
This week practice only the right hand which starts on
page 43. |
