The demos are to give you an idea about how the lessons work.
This class will advance you to the jazz lessons.
When I started to learn about arranging and chords, I already knew how to build chords
and play simple music with chords. But.........I had only been trained in classical music,
which means, I knew classical theory and basic analyzation, but did not know how to
translate that into playing music with chord markings.
The study of jazz put all of the pieces together and it was a simple matter of putting
the study of chords together with the study of scales. This is very simple to learn
and is taught in the Intermediate Piano Lessons. Not only will you learn arranging, but
will begin improvisation on blues, and will have the knowledge to write your own music.
The demo lessons will give you an idea of how the lessons work, plus, an introduction to
some of the music, finger exercises, and scale work that you will learning.
And....I don't stop there, you will learn a new process of thinking about music, and
I have also added practice ideas and worksheets to ensure you can accomplish
your goals in learning the piano.

Playing Scarborough Fair
In lesson #17 we start with playing the Scarborough Fair with simple blocked chords.
Piano lesson #17
In lesson #19, we use the same chords, but are opening them up to an open harmony in the left hand. The theories
to open harmony are taught in the Intermediate Lessons,
and in Lesson 19 you will have an example of the difference
of blocked chords or open harmony.

Blues
Lesson 22 is working with the right hand and adding
blues notes to your melody. I have kept the left hand in
simple blocked chords so you can concentrate on the
right hand only. Piano lesson #22 /
Heart and Soul Mp3
The MP3 file is played with the exact right hand blues
ideas that are written in the music. The left hand is played
with open harmony and a simple bass line. This is to inspire
you to keep working and also know that the open harmony
left hand can be played with all types of music.

Blues
More blues in the 12 bar blues motivic idea. You are mastering the blues and now it's time to work with the syncopation of rhythms. When playing jazz or blues, we always strive for rhtyhmic ideas that are played between
beats. For example, you might have a scale that has to start on a high note and end on a low note and contains
31 notes. How do you count that out to play within your
timing of the beats? This is mastered starting with playing
these simple blues ideas in syncopated rhythms. (More on
this in your jazz lessons.)
OH...............it's so much fun.
Piano lesson #33 /
Blues, Mp3
Why play Blues? It's fun, plus it's great technique,
strengthening hands and fingers, plus excellent
finger action.
